Conventional NDT Services

Conventional Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Services involve traditional testing methods to assess the integrity of materials and structures. These methods include
1. Ultrasonic: Utilizing high-frequency sound waves to detect flaws or defects.
2. Magnetic Particle Testing: Identifying surface and near-surface flaws using magnetic fields.
3. Dye Penetrant Testing: Detecting surface defects by applying a colored liquid penetrant.
4. Radiography: Using X-rays or gamma rays to inspect the internal structure of materials.
5. Visual Testing: Conducting inspections and assessments through visual examination of materials and components.

Advanced NDT Services

Advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Services employ cutting-edge technologies to provide precise and detailed inspections. These advanced methods include
1. Phased Array Ultrasonic: Using multiple ultrasonic elements to create detailed images.
2. Time-of-Flight Diffraction (TOFD): Accurately measuring the size and location of defects.
3. Eddy Current Testing: Detecting surface and near-surface defects using electromagnetic fields.
4. Guided Wave Testing: Inspecting long lengths of structures with guided ultrasonic waves.

DROPS Survey

Dropped Object Prevention Scheme or DROPS survey is considered a vital procedure of any condition inspection, it helps the oil and gas industry workers to identify the possible risks of dropped objects on work sites. Also, it helps in carrying out the recommendations and the best maintenance strategy to prevent all hazardous situations.
The survey takes place in different site parts such as ladders, and catwalks. masts, derricks, etc to locate the possible risks and conducted the needed actions and recommendations.
Almost 30% of dropped object accidents are related to technical or mechanical design problems. Yet, around half can be attributed to human factors.
The causes of dropped objects can vary but the most common reasons are related to loosening objects, gravity, wind, lack of awareness, and inadequate inspection or maintenance.
Since industry workers are exposed to a lot of danger whether it’s an onshore or offshore job site, there’s no doubt that they need a DROPS survey, but also, they need to follow a couple of practices to prevent dropped object incidents such as:

  • Apply the “Hierarchy of Controls” to eliminate or reduce exposure to dangers.
  • Be mindful of “No-entry” and “Restricted Access Zones” where it’s a dangerous area.
  • Try to identify specific places with higher risk by monitoring and measuring performance.
  • Practice risk-reduction instruction for workers in dangerous environments.
  • Set up rotational DROPS survey checks.
  • Take care when securing aid in the development of systematic learning and ongoing improvement.

Inspection of Lifting Equipment & Lifting Gear

The risks associated with using cranes, lifts, hoists, and other lifting appliances are well recognized in all industrialized nations. Ensuring safe working conditions for individuals who operate or work near high-risk lifting equipment requires strict oversight. These installations must be inspected regularly, and periodic testing and certification by a competent person are essential to confirm compliance with regulations and to minimize the likelihood of accidents due to equipment failure. Lifting equipment refers to any device used in the workplace to raise or lower loads, including accessories used for anchoring, securing, or supporting them.
